The Joe McCoy WOOL FIELD SPORTS JACKET is a revival of a classic menswear garment of the early 20th century. Featuring a double-cloth wool fabric with a horsehide leather trimming and elbow reinforcement, as well as a brass bell-style zipper on the chest pocket. There are also two cinch-style adjusters on the back of the jacket.
Heavily influenced by many 'Sportswear' coats produced in the interwar period. Button fastening was the mainstream until the 1930s when high quality zippers were introduced. It made for a durable and useful garment in the colder months with its heavy wool and leather trimming to stand against abrasion and the wear of time and its shorter length so that it didn't stand in the way of a workers range of movement; no matter your stature or job, it was meant to be a versatile garment that could stand the test of time.
