The USN MEDICAL DEPARTMENT SLEEPING SHIRT has been made from a vat dyed cotton square cloth. Soft finishings include a front fastening of cotton tape. The shirt also includes a USN MEDICAL DEPART stencil underneath the single chest pocket.

Originally issued for use in naval medical facilities, including shipboard sickbays and field hospitals, these shirts were designed for comfort and ease of wear, serving both patients and medical staff. Early models were typically made from white cotton cloth, while later 1950s versions were crafted from light blue cotton flannel, both colors commonly associated with hospital attire. This reinterpretation is made from the same square cloth used for our N-3 UTILITY SHIRT.
