The WOOL SCHOOL BLAZER has been modelled on the 1920s styling of young academics at Oxford University. Made from navy wool serge cloth, the blazer is detailed with rayon piping around the collar and pocket edges.
By incorporating school colors and crests into its design, the traditional British school blazer was a way of developing a school identity. Young students of the era would not conform to such rules and would be seen styling a blazer with the Oxford Bag Trouser. This was a wide-leg pant that would be worn as a symbol of rebellion and used as a way to work around strict uniform rules imposed at most Universities. With international undergraduates from prestigious Ivy League schools traveling to Britain, this style would be influential in their own dressing, and soon parts of America would see young students adopting this British styling.
